About

Updated Bio:

Happy to announce that I am enrolling to CBS this fall (2020). My goal is to join the Value Investing Program to continue this never-ending journey of learning about investing!

Bio when I first started this blog:

I am a fresh graduate student from Hong Kong. For nearly three years now, I have been hugely passionate about value investing, in particular quality/moat investing. (My first investment was a net-net investment. It was a total failure due to it being highly possibly a fraud. You can read about my first investment in China Agrotech in the blog post titled “China Agrotech – How Cheap Should A Bad Business Be?”. Since then, I want the business to be decent no matter the price)

I have spent most of my time studying U.S. companies even though I live in Hong Kong. But I plan to start spending more time on the HK Stock Market, as many people are telling me it’s just so cheap. (My reluctance is due to the scar from the China Agrotech investment)

I intend to share my thoughts on investing and occasionally some interesting stock ideas. Please share any feedback you have with me. Hope to learn from everyone of you!

And if you want to do any scuttlebutt with Hong Kong listed companies, please do not hesitate and contact me for help!

You can find me at substantiainvesting@gmail.com

  1. Hi Dickson,

My name is Eylon and as an investor I follow your articles.

Can I ask you something in private in an E-mail address or even by phone if you prefer?
Please let me know if this can be possible.

    Regards,
    Eylon
